I had so much fun at the CK Convention yesterday! Rose, Erin, and I left bright and early, before 6 a.m. to drive to Tulsa.
Our first class was with Shimelle on Guide Words. I loved hearing her story behind the creation of this class. We got to meet up with a great online friend and fellow dt member from ScrapGal, Cindy. Afterwards, we did a little shopping. I bought lots of cool patterned paper. I'll try to take a pic later to post.
As we were heading out to get a bite to eat, Rose and I met up with Susan Cyrus andJessi Stringham. We decided to go to Olive Garden and one of the many local scrapbook stores for even more shopping. I only purchased a few more sheets of patterned paper. (Are you beginning to see what my true scrapbooking addiction is? lol)
We headed back to the convention center just in the nick of time for our next class with Shimelle, Stick it on the Wall. (remind me to tell my most embarrassing story later) We worked on a 5x 9 inch canvas. I could have finished mine, but decided to bring it home to put a few finishing touches on it.
Our next class was Fun Photo Projects Made Simple, hosted by Simple Scrapbooks. We made a few of Donna Downey's projects from her newest book, Decorative Journals. Fun stuff!
Rose and I met back up with Cindy and Erin and finished browsing the shopping area. I bought a new stamp set from Technique Tuesday. I also was brave and asked one of the really nice ladies in the booth about their dt. She gave me the email addy of the the creative directer, who does the picking. :D I'll definitely be emailing her in the next day or so (not in the next 2 weeks, Rose) lol. I also bought somethings from Rusty Pickle to make a mini celebrations album which will hold all of our families' birthdays and anniversaries. I'm going to use the new Basic Grey Lucky Papers. Happy papers!
Then it was off to Chili's for a yummy yummy dinner with Rose, Erin, and Cindy. We were thinking of going to Target...to browse...waste time...have fun. But when we headed out of the restaurant, there was a huge wall of black clouds heading our direction. Which in Oklahoma means that there's a nasty storm brewing. The wind picked up, it started to rain, so we thought it best to head home instead of getting stuck in it.
We arrived safely back in Guthrie, just slightly soggy. lol. Rose allowed me to drool on admire her album that she made at CKU-Albums last weekend. She took Ali's track/class where she created a huge album titled 'A Week in My Life'. I am sooo going to do this same thing. It's an amazing thing to document! I think it'd be so cool to do this one week each year. It definitely got my wheels turning. We watched Big Brother that Troy so graciously taped for us, and then she headed home. I collapsed sometime before 11 p.m. and slept like a rock. I hadn't realized just how tired I really was.
I'm currently sitting here...enjoying the dark and rainy day. I love the smell of fresh rain. Troy's at work and Rose and Justin are on their way here. They're dropping off their munchkins so they can go enjoy some time together for their 4 year anniversary! Happy Anniversary you two!
So here's what I hope to do today, besides relaxing and playing with the kiddos....
CLEAN OFF MY SCRAPBOOK DESK!
Just take a peek...
*Remind me to post photos of friends and stuff when CINDY emails me the pic's. HINT HINT! hee hee*

Sounds like a great CK Convention. Aren't those Technique Tuesday stamps the best? I bought their first 3 sets at a CK convention in Oregon when they first came out March 2003 and use them all the time! I like that I'm supporting a local business as well. Hope you make the DT, last time I saw them at a convention I told them that they needed to update their gallery for often.
