I've been busy...but I've also been procrastinating on the blogging because I know it's going to take a Loooooong time to type up this post...but here goes...
Sunday, Sept 12th: The first night of Konnect is here and the kids are so excited! Austin is actually in K5 this year, which is for the 5th graders, and so he wanted his picture taken separately since his shirt is totally different from the girls'.
Monday, Sept 13th: Today, I kept Erin's girls. Homeschooling 6 kids and running a home daycare equals a busy and very loud day. So many cups to fill...so many lunches to make...so many lessons to check...so many hugs and smiles and giggles. It was a good day.
Tuesday, Sept 14th: The kids made weather charts today. We're going to see how accurate the meteorologists' predictions are this week.
Wednesday, Sept 15th: Meghan cleaned out and organized the spice cabinet this afternoon. She is so good at it! Baking on one shelf. Cooking on the other. She is definately my daughter.
Thursday, Sept 16th: I wasn't able to make it to the gym this morning, so tonight, I decided to do one of my Walk Away the Pounds dvd's. I'd forgotten how sweaty they can be. It felt great!
Friday, Sept 17th: This week, we decided to start a 4-day school week and take Fridays off. It gives me a day to catch up on things around the house and it gives the kids a day to just be kids. So far, they're enjoying it a lot!
Saturday, Sept 18th: Troy had to take his bike into the shop over a week ago to get a tune up or something like that. I really don't know or understand much about it. But he was so happy to pick it up this afternoon. We were in the city running errands already, so he picked it up, then followed us to church.
Sunday, Sept 19th: Yesterday, Meghan bought this creepy rubbery snake. This morning, I found it hanging out on my computer. Ewwww!
Monday, Sept 20th: Austin and I both had a flat tire on our bikes. Troy just didn't have the time to replace them this weekend, so Austin and I decided to give it a shot. And we did it!! All on our own...except for one or two phone calls to Troy. We were both pretty proud of ourselves.
Tuesday, Sept 21st: Instead of watching a movie this afternoon, I found Meghan reading piles and piles of books in the playroom.
Wednesday, Sept 22nd: We closed on our home refinance this morning! yay! We're so excited to replace the windows and doors and start working on remodeling and updating the inside. Our sweet mortgage broker gave us this adorable cardboard house as a thank you gift. Meghan promptly confiscated it right after I took this photo. She painted it, decorated it with stickers, and said it was a house for her new pet snake.
Thursday, Sept 23rd: Kaitlin's Junior Anatomy Journal finally arrived today. She was so thrilled to be able to do her own work alongside Austin and Meghan. A lot of it is the same as theirs, but she also has coloring pages and simpler vocabulary activities. So fun!
Friday, Sept 24th: Another purchase from last weekend...a model car for Austin. He worked all day on it. He was so diligent, carefully reading the instructions and following them. Troy had to put a few finishing touches on it when he got home from work, but otherwise Austin did it by himself! Way to go!
Saturday, Sept 25th: The Wildlife Expo was so much fun this year! We all had a wonderful time exploring all the exhibits and learning a lot of new things. Austin and Troy kayaked while the girls and I stayed dry on the sidelines. But I just had to use this photo for today. Austin took this while riding in an ATV driven, obviously, by Dad. At least somebody was watching the "road". I'm just thankful he didn't drop the camera.
Sunday, Sept 26th: Happy Birthday to our sweet Katie-bug! She had a special day celebrating at the park with all our family and friends! I truly can't imagine our life without her. She is kind and loving and energetic and dramatic. She loves to dance and sing and will do anything to make others smile and laugh. We're so proud to be her parents!
Monday, Sept 27th: The weather has suddenly turned cooler. It seems like Oklahoma skips from hot August temperatures straight into November. This morning it was foggy and so pretty out across the field behind our house. Can you see the horses?
Tuesday, Sept 28th: We bought this adorable paper doll game for Kaitlin's birthday. The girls have had so much playing it this afternoon.
Wednesday, Sept 29th: Austin scared the bejeebies out of me this morning. I was flip-flopping laundry from the washer to the dryer, but I found a little surprise in the dryer!
Thursday, Sept 30th: Kaitlin needed some fresh air this evening, so she went out front to draw with sidewalk chalk. She wrote "I love my family and God!" with a big long pink heart underneath it. I sure do love this tender-hearted girl!
Friday, Oct 1st: I went grocery shopping tonight. Troy went into destruction mode around the house! I could tell he was doing something mischievious when I talked to him on the cell phone a few times. I'm so glad the useless brick wall is finally gone! Now, it's time to clean up the mess though.
Saturday, Oct 2nd: Meghan's girl scout troop recently worked on their Bronze Award. Today was the final piece of it. They had to document their project and Ms. Ginger asked Erin and I to teach the girls how to scrapbook. They each created a layout using pictures of themselves. All 18 of them did a fabulous job. They're all so creative and different.
Ahhh...I'm caught up! Remind me not to get 3 weeks behind again. :)
